As is our plan for most elders meetings this year, the meeting was conducted in two parts:

  • (1) The elders, staff and partners met for 2 hours on Sunday 22nd August in order to gain a wider perspective on some DPC issues; and
  • (2) The elders met again on Tuesday 24th August to formalize the decisions to be made.

At the August elders meeting:

(1)   It was resolved to approve the following plan for DPC to hold the following events at the end of 2010 / beginning of 2011:

  • Friday (Christmas Eve)  5pm service
  • Friday (Christmas Eve)  Midnight service (11:15pm)
  • Saturday (Christmas Day) Morning service (9:30am)
  • Sunday (Boxing Day)  10:30 church only
  • Sunday (2nd Jan 2011)  9am & 10:30 church only

(2)   It was resolved to approve the following upcoming events:

  • (a)   Kids Church Teacher Thank You Lunch (28th November)
  • (b)   Kids Church Training Day (27th February 2011)
  • (c)    “Man vs. Meat” Evangelistic night (Saturday 26th March 2011),
  • (d)   JAM Kids Mission week (Week beginning Monday 11th April)

(3)   The elders, elders’ wives met with Anna and Clayton Moss to discuss how her ministry at DPC is going and to pray with both of them.

(4)   The elders, elders’ wives and other staff met with the JAM leaders (Darryl Soh, Declan Sharp & Caleb Ioannidis) and dy leaders (Jonathan Graham, Ben Harris, Ali Harris and Gabby Lum Mow) to receive reports of how the respective ministries are going and to pray with them.

(5) The elders met up with Andrew Woodyatt to discuss how he is going as a DPC theological student and to pray with him.
