Through the work of the son, we have an intimate and personal relationship with God. We are able to address him as our father through the spirit. And since our God is the creator, sovereign over all things, we humbly address him with our concerns and requests. It's for these reasons that every few months at DPC, we ask all our Home Groups to stop what they usually do and use the night to pray for things happening at church, around Australia and in the world.

Even if you're not part of a Home Group, you might like to pray through the sheet sometime during the week.

1. Pray in light of God's Word.

Think back over our series on Hebrews. Ask each person in the group to identify one thing about what God is like, or what he has done in Hebrews. Make a list and praise God for these things.

2. Pray & Give thanks for things at church.  (Here are some things to start with...)

• pray for Deb Chen from DPC serving in Thailand (look on the website or the postcard in today's bulletin for more details)

• Pray for James and Lee-ann Hansen and Lee-on and Evelyn Tan as they continue to prepare to go overseas to East Asia to serve. Pray in particular that they may raise the required financial support.

• pray for our 9am congregation as we play to incorporate families next year.

• Give thanks for our recent open church that we had at 10:30 Church. Pray that the visitors who came may come connected with DPC and grow in their relationship with God

• Pray for 6pm church as we hold a crucial meeting on Thursday Sept 24th to review how 6pm church is going and make plans for the future.

• Pray that across our three congregations we would see people becoming Christians and God's kingdom growing!

• Pray for expectant mums (Anne Amos, Heather Denman, Jo Gamble, Lee-Ann Hansen, Petra Kleegraefe, Eddy Soh, Renee Wilson, etc) - that God will grant mum and baby good health

3. Pray for the group.

Take time as a group to give thanks and pray for the needs of individuals in the group and people linked to your group.
