Job description:
Before the Day:
- Learn the songs before you turn up by practicing at home. This is a way of making sure your time together is not spent learning the song, but its about working out how to present the songs together as a team.
- Practice sufficiently together. Whether its weekly or less often; whether its at church or somewhere else, make time to practice, its up to each team to work out the details. This is an opportunity to talk to each other about the 'music mission' and to ensure that you're working together to fulfill your role as part of the body of Christ.
- Get to practice on time, it's a great way to show you value each other and the role of music in church.
- Work on the 'musicality'. The way you present a piece of music can have a significant impact on the way it is received. Work on intros, endings, drop outs, dynamics, etc.
On the Day:
- Arrive at 10:00am/5:00pm to do a 'run through' and be ready to start on time.
- Get a run sheet. Check with the Leader as to who is introducing songs, etc.
- Practice singing using the lyrics on the monitor (the hardcopy of the song might be different to the projector!)
- Pray at 10:10am/5:40pm.
- Be ready to start on time.
At the end:
- Leave the music area tidy and put away all music.
- If there has been a problem with song lyrics, music needing correction, stuff missing, let Ange know so we can fix it for next time.
